Jared, if that's even your real name
Great review! My favorite part is where you said fuck a bunch and did't actually give any input on your show. I'm sorry, the show. The show. There there. *pats on the shoulder* you don't need to resort to lame calling, it doesn't give your audience a good impression.

Making small plastic reproductions of other people's intellectual property doesn't make you an artist, it makes you a thief. Fuck you and fuck what you think you're entitled to.

Wizard World USED to be a good show, now they're garbage and dead to me
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? Betrayed. That's the word, I think, that best describes how I was feeling after this year's Wizard World Portland. I'd been vending this show for 4 years now, and even did their Vegas show one year. I was a featured artist on their website for a couple of years. WAS. We'll get to that. This year however, was a TRAIN WRECK. Set up was about the same as it usually is, except this time, the layout was HORRIBLE, with the artist alley broken up to the sides with vendors in center and this god awful 'entertainment stage' they set up IN the vendor's hall, 'causing the same noise issues as I had with Northwest Comic Fest. It doesn't work, stop doing it. The entertainment wasn't even good for the most part and on top of that, they kept switching the times for events and panels! That's not even the beginning of it! They also screwed up this year's program by printing last year's artists and map in this year's program!! So Everyone was lost the entire time anyways!! HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! How could you, an organization who rakes in millions of dollars of fan's money from shows all year long, all over the country, make SUCH AN ELEMENTARY MISTAKE?! OR ALL OF THESE OTHER MISTAKES FOR THA T MATTER?! Oh OH! Speaking of money, they had MORE BOOZE VENDORS AND BS SPONSOR BOOTHS THAN COMIC VENDORS. Drunken lowest common denominator rubbish. We had to deal with intoxicated patrons wandering around the convention hall as they left the 'entertainment' area open with lax security watching the surrounding tables. And we're supposed to be trusting our businesses with these people? You aren't SDCC, this isn't the sails pavilion, it's the PORTLAND convention center. Just stop. The biggest crock of crap came Sunday when we had a vendor 'meeting' where we were to address our issues over the weekend with staff. SEVERAL artists and vendors were understandably pissed off. The way the staff handled it was to ignore people and try to use diversion tactics while bragging about the money they spent on guests no one gives a crap about (yes, guest list and thus audience was also lacking), it sounded like disgusting politician talk. It was incredibly insulting and I filmed the entire thing. I then posted the video to YouTube where it was promptly removed upon grounds of 'privacy violation', but before reaching 500+ views. I still have the video and will GLADLY turn it over to anyone who wants to use it for the purpose of improving the united geekdom of conventions and artists. Anyways, when I got home I saw that they had removed me from the website! How petty is that?! Instead of owning up to their problems, they decided to act like children. I contacted many of the staff but all I got were emails that were automated responses or diversions, or giving me the run around. No apologies, No refund, No nothing. Just BS. I've never been so disrespected by a show that I've put so much time and effort into. You people make me sick. Oh, and the cherry on the sh-- cake? I invited my musician friend in and they asked him to play, which he did. For no pay..on the badge that I paid for. NICE. HOW VERY NICE OF YOU WIZARD WORLD. I hope your org burns to the ground you sorry sacks of excuses.

Good con (for a Wizard World)
Comparable to Rose City in size, but more focused on Guests over artists. Expensive ticket prices (for vendors and attendees alike) will cut into profits, but a large venue and big crowds can make up for that.
