Help Save Cherry City!
Cherry City Comic Con started strong then slowly started to fizzle out over time it seems. I did it for a couple of years, skipping a year in between. The tables were affordable but the venue was in a kind of weird place out at the fair grounds (admittedly, it was fun to explore the concert venue across the street with no one around early in the morning). The first year we did okay, everyone seemed in high spirits, it was well organized, and we made some money. The second time I did it, the attendance was down and it seemed like maybe not everyone was on the same page. I ended up not doing it this year in favor of trying a new show but talked to vendor friends who did. They said that this year wasn't any better. I wonder if Salem's only decent comic con will be able to pull things together. I'd like to see them succeed, but it seems they need to make some changes to make that happen. Good luck!
