Avoid this cheap con
i went to this cheap little show last year and they had the nerve to charge $25 for one day even though the advertised price was $20. they didn;t even have the right card reader and had to enter my debit card by hand. Either way it was still a ripoff. you can see everything inside in 20 minutes and they did not have many good vendors. the photo ops was down and I was there for one wrestling guest. the rest of the guests are the cheap of the cheap. this is more like a low grade flea market . not a lot of cosplay and no atmosphere. some vendors I talked to said it was very disorganized and it showed. not a lot of people there though the people running it were boasting on their facebook page about the number of people. i was there Saturday at opening and the line was maybe 30 people. lucky if 1500 were there. the only good thing was there wasn't a line for the wrestler i wnated to see. The most lameness in Oregon. Avoid. there are so many other great shows in this state you can spend your time and money at. Rose City Comic Con is great so is EuCon and Kamuricon and Heroes and villains.

Help Save Cherry City!
Cherry City Comic Con started strong then slowly started to fizzle out over time it seems. I did it for a couple of years, skipping a year in between. The tables were affordable but the venue was in a kind of weird place out at the fair grounds (admittedly, it was fun to explore the concert venue across the street with no one around early in the morning). The first year we did okay, everyone seemed in high spirits, it was well organized, and we made some money. The second time I did it, the attendance was down and it seemed like maybe not everyone was on the same page. I ended up not doing it this year in favor of trying a new show but talked to vendor friends who did. They said that this year wasn't any better. I wonder if Salem's only decent comic con will be able to pull things together. I'd like to see them succeed, but it seems they need to make some changes to make that happen. Good luck!
