On the minus side, the convention was quite small, and the high ticket prices for attendees ($70 for the weekend, $35 for Friday or Sunday, and $45 for Saturday) didn’t leave them with much to spend at the merchant tables. I didn’t even make back the table fee ($125 for a six-foot space and two badges), which was disheartening for a three-day con. Most of the merchants were in the hotel ballroom, which was not well-lit after dark. To add to that problem, most of the tables were not located near electrical outlets, forcing merchants to bring battery-powered light sources to illuminate their tables.
In their defense, this *was* their first event; perhaps future ones will be better.
