Hero Hype Miami - waste of time
I tabled here in 2023 as an artist. This con has been running for years and still doesn’t generate the most traffic… Clearly they suck at marketing. I was placed toward the back, and I didn’t make table back even though it was just $100. I had only 7 sales by the end of the day. I asked my neighbor how many sales they had near closing, and I think it was 10. One of my artist friends who was there was placed at the front, and even she did okay but not great. Neither of us went back in 2024. If you want a better con to go for in the Miami area, I recommend Otakufest (Friday was a bit slow, but sales picked up on Saturday). Supercon, I haven’t tabled at yet.

Check-in at least was efficient & the staff handling that were friendly. The con was placed on the second floor of the MACC toward the back side. While there were signs directing to it on the first floor, they were pretty plain signs, nothing that would stand out to passerby by on the first floor. Perhaps the con doesn’t have many interesting things to do for attendees either, considering it hasn’t gained popularity like Otakufest has been over time.

Hero Hype Tampa
I just completed Hero Hype in Tampa as an artist vendor.

It was very poorly marketed and very few attendees came. Lots of empty vendor tables too. Table was $130 and I did not make that back as well as other artists I spoke to. I have read other reviews online where this is not the first time Hero Hype has had bad shows that brought in very few people, so I think if this organizer wants to continue doing cons, they need to go back to the drawing board and rebrand or just stop doing them altogether because at some point it just becomes a waste of time, money, and resources for a lot of people. Considering how badly their last shows have gone and now this one, I doubt ANY of their future cons will be successful, so please do yourself a favor and DO NOT sign up for this con. They need to just stop.

I'd also like to point out that the organizer sent an email stating that we vendors should have received an email with a 4 digit code needed to get our table. I never received that email so of course I wan worried. I emailed the organizer back and received no reply. So I texted the organizer at the number left and also received no reply. Finally I DM'd their Instagram and received a reply the night before the event. Not sure why communication was so poor but that was definitely a bad sign.

Small Con, Good Sales 2017!
Small con, but it seemed like a lot of people came here for the merch, or families with their kids. The check in person was a little confused, but the staff was friendly and the whole con had a family friendly vibe. Table was $80, fair price for the day. Had good sales all weekend, but it seemed other artists and vendors just broke table so your mileage may vary. Overall, will be back again next year!
