worst staff ever.
Staff member Emily was the worst! She's a power tripper who acts like she's the owner of the event.

A Kind Convention
This was my first time attending this convention and while it's not the most profitable con I've been to, it's definitely a solid con. The staff were super nice and attentive and when I was late due to traffic, they stood in front of my table until I arrived. They would check on us ever 30 minutes or in case we needed a break. It's a pretty small con all things considered but definitely has the spirit of a well run community event. Might be a bit expensive to go to out of state and the city itself is pretty quiet. It was a bit hard hailing uber/lyfts and some rides would take nearly 20-30 minutes to arrive so please prepare for delays when getting around the city. (this was also compounded with some sort of marathon happening in the city)

Overall a great event.

Amazing!
This was my very first con to have a booth in and it was honestly an amazing experience. While I have nothing to compare Kamicon to, Im so please with how they handled everything.

I was a last minute addition. I was contacted Wednesday before the con, however this wasnt an issue as Im a local so I decided to take the offer. The staff were incredibly kind and helped us with any questions. Any time we were confused they came to help out.

About every 30 minutes to an hour someone would walk by and make sure we were okay, which was so nice.
On Saturday evening there was a scare. The fire alarms went off because a vent in the kitchen didn’t open. The staff were able to keep everyone calm as we evacuated and protected table that were unattended. They really showed their all.

For payout, it was really decent! So many nice people! I made back all the money I spent on supplies and more!

For Covid, they were very adamant about mask use. They had Covid testing on site and made sure masks were always on (unless eating/drinking).

Overall, Im so so happy this was my first con experience! I couldn’t have asked for better staff!

Amazing
My review is late, but I went this year(2017) and I made sooo many sales. The customers are so nice and polite, and the con is small but it feels big. That's how amazing it is. Staff were wonderful and supportive, artist set up was good and the layout was average but good! No complaints. I suggest this con because the customers are always wanting to buy something.

Wonderful first experience
As someone who sold mainly in populated west coast cons but wanted to get into the 'cons becoming my income' way of living, I realized I needed to find some cons that were relatively nearby me or at least on the same coast I lived on; the east. I found Kamicon and, hearing some decent good word on it, thought I'd give it a go. I was a little nervous at first as I had not sold as a small con before and wasn't sure how things would turn out with this.

The verdict: it was better than I could have expected.

While I didn't make as much money as I was use to, I nevertheless still made a good amount. The flow of people was great (a surprising amount for something considered 'small') and I can't recall a single bad experience with anyone who came to my booth. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Even if you don't consider yourself the most social of people it's easy to make friends or at least relatively good terms with those who work hard for this convention (many thanks to those who helped with supplies and general guidance)!

The only small cons I would have to list was the layout and where the convention itself is held. The tables were way too close--back to back--to one another making it hard for people to keep in their own spaces; enough people brought that up to the attention of the staff though, so I can't imagine it will be a problem again. Even then, it still worked out. The location is not a terrible city but it does hit some depressing areas if you travel enough through it. Like many cities though, there are some sketchy parts and then there are more populated/business related areas. Travel smart and you'll be absolutely fine.

Overall, I highly recommend Kamicon and I hope I can return again this year!

Amazing con
We have sold in AA two years in a row, it's our hometown con and I have to say we always do very very well here. Staff and attendees are always very polite and friendly. This is one of my favorite cons!

BEST CON EVER
Went to Kami because it was close by. They were reporting 8k attendance, so I figured I'd make a moderate amount. Nope! Made more here than I did at AWA. Staff were fantastic, helped artists set up and take down, and would watch my table when I needed a bathroom break. Attendees were kind and kept bringing people back to my table. Only real complaint was the table spacing was a little less than I'd like between tables, but it was a minor complaint. Other artists were also fantastic. What a great con, I'm definitely going back next year.
