MOBICON

Overall Mobicon was a success for me. I got to meet a lot of great artists, and profit was decent. There was probably close to 2k attendees, which seems good for a con in south Alabama. (Even more so since there was a tropical storm the same weekend and it was also Memorial Day weekend.) The venue was nice, parking was easy and free, and there were lots of food options close by. The AA and Dealer's Hall shared a room that was straight across from the escalators. The AA was an aisle of artists in between 2 rows of vendors near the back of the room. There were probably 8-10 rows of vendors total, so it wasn't like we were shoved in the back or anything. The tables were extremely small though, so many returning artists brought their own tables. Also the room was so cold! The table cost $125, and a bigger vendor space is just $150. So I will probably upgrade if I can attend next year's con. I was able to crash at a friend's house, and had this not been the case, I probably would not be happy with my profit margin.
